TOPYN ("we", "us") operates topyn.com, a map of garage sales, markets and open houses in Australia. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Information we collect

• Listing details you provide: sale address, suburb, postcode, state, date and times, description, and any photos you upload.
• Contact details: the email address you give us (used to verify and manage your listing) and, optionally, a public contact number you choose to display.
• Location searches: a suburb or postcode you enter, or your device's approximate location if you use the "use my location" feature.
• Technical data: your IP address, and a reCAPTCHA risk score, collected to prevent spam and abuse.
• Subscription details: your email and suburb if you sign up for the weekend digest.

How we use it

• To publish your listing on the map and let shoppers find it.
• To send you a verification email and a link to edit or remove your listing.
• To send the weekend digest, if you subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to keep listings accurate.

What we share

Your listing's public details (address, date, times, description, photos and any contact number you chose to display) are visible to anyone using TOPYN. Your email address is never shown publicly.

We use trusted service providers to run TOPYN, and share data with them only as needed to provide the service:

• Supabase — database and photo storage.
• Vercel — website hosting.
• Google Maps & reCAPTCHA — mapping, geocoding and spam protection.
• PayPal — payment processing for paid listing types.
• Resend — sending verification and digest emails.

We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage for essentials such as remembering your saved favourites and whether you've dismissed the "add to home screen" prompt. Our providers (e.g. Google, PayPal) may set their own cookies when their features load.

Retention

Listings are intended to be temporary and are removed after the sale date passes. You can edit or delete your listing at any time using the link in your confirmation email. To have subscription or other data removed, contact us.

Your choices

• Edit or remove your listing via the link we email you.
• Unsubscribe from the digest using the link in any digest email.
• Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us.
